Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine became part of Kongsberg Maritime. My role stayed the same.Following the transfer of the production of ship-size waterjets to the Kokkola production facility, I am responsible for creating the process that allows us to provide the requested classification certificates with our waterjets. This starts with ensuring that the requirements of the classification societies are known throughout the production chain (engineering, purchasing, production), as well as overseeing and handling the flow of documents from our suppliers and different departments to the surveyor. Responsibilities also include being the single point of contact with the classification societies, writing and sending in applications for approvals, and following up that these are issued according to schedule.As the position is allocated to the Quality, HSE, and Manufacturing Engineering department, I also handle a number of tasks and side-projects associated with these fields.

Serving as single point of contact between customer (and in certain cases end-user) and Rolls-Royce, handling customer requests, warranty claims, and general customer satisfaction. Similarly, responsible for waterjets being delivered on time and in accordance with specifications and budget. Field of responsibility cover shipyards in Europe (including Russia and Turkey, excluding Sweden and Norway).

Coordinating and overseeing the assembly process of our aluminum boats.Tasks include working as a link between the engineering department and the system mechanics, as well as working in conjunction with the procurements to manage the flow of goods during the assembly process. Subordinated fields include e.g. propulsion, HVAC, hydraulics, and safety equipment. After final assembly and outfitting is ready, the focus is on the sea trials, which are performed under the supervision of both company staff as well as the representatives of the client, after which the vessel is officially handed over to the customer.

Working with the rest of the engineering team at Kewatec AluBoat as an assistant engineer in the design of aluminum work boats. Tasks includes the independent design of different sub-systems, as well as supervised work on larger assemblies.

Looking for potential projects, preliminary customer contacts, coordinating the sales process for public procurements, writing our bids, producing marketing material (including writing, photographing and photo-editing). As a secondary task I also took part in the design of our boats and their sub-systems.

Partaking in writing and coordinating our bid for the Fast Pilot Boat 2011, later to become our Pilot 1500-project, for the Swedish Maritime Agency, as well as other tasks related to the sales process.

Milling parts for continous track assemblies, but the position also included a wide variety of secondary tasks, e.g. measuring finished assemblies for quality control, painting, other kinds of machining, and so forth.
