I ran the city assignment desk.As deputy Sunday editor, I worked as Sunday Editor for four months each year, leading editorial content, supervising all editorial staff and liaising with advertising and marketing. As an award-winning journalist, writer and editor I uncovered gripping stories with impact. I provoked the creation of a Bill of Rights for nursing home residents, forced the revision of Ontario Energy Board contracts, caused legislation to be enacted regarding vitamins and natural health products and sparked new rules regarding heavy metal poisons in consumer products, especially those for children. I was project manager and created a graphics-based "FYI" section, and was a key member of the team that created the prototype for Eye Weekly Magazine and many other special sections.
