Since 1967, I've worked in partnership with my husband, who has been a designer-builder, first of hand-made furniture and later of homes and decks. I started out working in our furniture showroom in New York City, then became office manager for the construction of homes and decks, and finally worked as a construction manager and associate designer for the design and construction of unique single-family homes, mainly on the Oregon Coast. In 2009, with the pull-back of the building boom, I started studying internet marketing and website development. I've taken on more and more of that type of work, while still backing up my husband's work as a designer-builder. Also, at that time, I took the bookkeeping skills I learned through the years at Peter Asher Designs and applied them to our own and others' businesses, including Charity United.Most recently, I joined with a venture called Living Clean International LLC to present information and products of the non-toxic variety. This started with volunteering for the Open Directory Project in the 90s (the Mozilla directory edited by thousands of volunteers). I started two categories then - Non-Toxic Living and Emergency Preparation and I reserved the domain livingclean.com, which I thought would be useful someday. Now that domain is in use and we are developing a widening variety of non-toxic information and products, including (so far) mainly health and beauty products and herbal remedies. So - an old dream is coming to fruition.I enjoy my garden and the surrounding forest with its wildlife, our local beach towns, piano, studying to learn new things, cooking healthy food, making herbal remedies, hiking, swimming, writing poetry and educational articles, and - best of all - my family and friends.
