One of my favorite courses to teach at the university is the First-Year seminar that encourages students as emerging leaders to seriously consider the importance of having purpose and passion in their future careers. I love that they are introduced at the earliest stages of their career development to the impact of not only being leaders who are committed to making a difference but also pursue purpose and fulfillment in their lives and work.My favorite leadership role at the university is being a valued member of the First-Year Seminar Leadership team that directs the curriculum and guides the faculty teaching sections of the FYS seminar.

As Interim Director of the Center for the Advancement of Women at Mount Saint Mary’s University, I was honored to be a part of initiatives to advance women’s leadership and gender equity in the Los Angeles community and beyond. In my role as Interim Director, I have been responsible for leading and executing the strategic vision of the Center, managing a team of staff, Faculty Fellows, and researchers while also overseeing a range of impactful initiatives. Throughout my leadership, we have developed partnerships with other organizations, developed thoughtful research studies, and hosted events that have empowered women’s leadership and gender equity. Additionally, I have worked with the guidance of the Vice President of Equity, Diversity, and Justice at Mount Saint Mary’s University on implementing the Center’s initiatives, programs, and leadership to ensure they align with the University’s commitment to equity, diversity, and justice. I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead this important work and contribute to meaningful change in our community and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with colleagues and partners who share our mission of creating a more just and inclusive world for all.
