As an academic and corporate educator, I use the arts and creativity to foster empathy, encourage collaboration, develop strategy and communication skills, and increase emotional intelligence and wellbeing. I'm an Associate Professor of Theater at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I combine my 25+ years of experience as an international award-winning interdisciplinary theater artist and educator to create and deliver innovative curricula and programs. I have an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts, a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, and certifications in Physical Theatre Performance and Standardized Patient Education. My expertise covers various disciplines, including devising, performing, creative writing, and educational strategy.A few examples include:• Led a team that developed and implemented innovative, arts-based educational strategies, training over 3,300 healthcare professionals nationwide. This led to the attainment of Continued Medical Education (CME) status.• Designed, developed, and taught an Athletics in the Performing Arts curriculum that fulfilled a general education requirement at a public university. This course explored the intersection of sports and performing arts, incorporating critical thinking, scientific concepts, and psychosocial awareness to encourage creativity and physical expression in students.• Through research, development, and collaboration, my team created an education training tool around generalized anxiety. This award-winning program investigates how the body and the mind experience and respond to anxiety using dance, physical theater, and partnerships with mental health professionals, followed by a physician-led workshop. I am passionate about exploring and expressing the human condition through play, physical freedom, and healing. I have received multiple grants, honors, and recognition for my work, including a Vermeil Medal from the Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres and a New Work New England Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts. I am also the Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Articine, a professional development nonprofit that creates innovative training for healthcare professionals using arts-based learning strategies. My training and expertise use the body's architecture and movement to convey intention in performance, development, and training.
