As Director of the Lighthouse Food Bank I was responsible for expanding our distribution base of food pantries, soup kitchens, orphanages, and other nonprofit organizations. We had one warehouse and 21 agencies upon my appointment. I increased our distribution base to two warehouses and 57 agencies within one year. -Worked closely with the USDA to train, inspect and motivate nonprofits to help the needy. -Regularly moved hundreds of thousands of pounds of food per year via our warehouses in Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. -Launched and promoted hunger awareness campaigns via the local media and seminars. -Maintained current and up to date records of food distribution, site inspections, and partner agencies. -Actively sought partnerships with local and national sources to bring more than just food to the impoverished, including but not limited to baby care items, toiletries, household cleaning items, etc. -Host agency closed the Lighthouse Food Bank in December of 2005.
