Semi-retired health and physical educator with 28 years of experience. After spending 21 years in an elementary school setting, I transitioned to the district level, spending three years as a teacher engagement specialist before returning to my content areas for the last three years of my career as the instructional lead for health and physical education in a district with nearly 100,000 students. My passion is connecting educators and planning quality, innovative professional learning opportunities for educators. From my time working with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Teacher Advisory Council) and the Hope Street Group (State Teacher Fellow and statewide lead engager), I have developed a unique skill set for event planning and teacher connectivity. These opportunities have also allowed me to see how intentional, strategic communication with educators can create multiple touchpoints for professional growth and capacity building.
