Like so many veterinarians out in the world, I remember having a connection to animals from a young age. However, my most clear memory that accounts for my evolution into veterinary medicine is a 3rd grade project involving frog dissection. I was paired up with a classmate that wanted nothing to do with that dead frog and felt I had won the lottery that I got to do the whole thing on my own. I even took home some of the body parts to show my mom and dad! This early love of animals and biology fused into the perfect profession and I am excited to start my working career.Specialties: My species interests include dogs and cats. I enjoy discussing care with clients to figure out the best plan for their pet. Behavior and preventive are some of my medical interests. I have maintained involvement with organized veterinary medicine through committee work with the AVMA. The relationships built with veterinary professionals over the years has become one of my most treasured accomplishments as a veterinarian.

Executive Board, Editor, The Vet GazetteStudent American Veterinary Medical Association Feb 2008 - Apr 2011I became involved with the Student AVMA as a student delegate during my first year of veterinary school. When my term as delegate came to an end, I knew I wanted to continue my involvement with the organization. I was elected into the position of Editor-elect for The Vet Gazette, SAVMA's national student publication. As I grew into this role I transitioned the publication from a quarterly newsletter to a regularly updated blog. With this new format I created a larger community among veterinary students which keeps them up to date on student issues.www.thevetgazette.com
