This project was a master thesis in Industrial Design Engineering written during the autumn of 2015 at Luleå University of Technology and Liko Hill-rom, Alvik. The task of this thesis focused on was to develop a new innovative concept for one of their products. The goal of the project was to improve the user experience by making the interaction between user and product easier and so prevent misuse and also reduce installation and assembly time. Liko Hill-Rom currently seeking patent on the concept and the hope is that the concept in the future will be mass produced.

During the course D7011A, Advanced Prototyping at Luleå University of Technology we were given the task of design and manufacturing a realistic mock-up model of a robotic vacuum cleaner for STIHL. The first phase was to identify and analyse key features of STIHL´s design profile to gain a deeper understanding of their products and also to help us visualise how a robotic vacuum cleaner from STIHL would look like. From the selected idea, a clay model was made and 3D-scanned into the surface modelling software Alias Automotive. A detailed model was created in Alias and CNC-milled in polyurethane foam. The foam was then used as a core for vacuum forming the plastic shell. Components such as power buttons and handles were 3D-printed in plaster to give it a nice and smooth finish. Worked two summers as a warehouse employee at Rema 1000 distribution warehouse in Oslo.

dMine was a design Project in the course "D7006A, Advanced Product Design (15hp)" with focus to develop a refuge chamber for the European mining industry. The project was a sub project to “Deep Mine Rescue” which is a part of the EU Project I2Mine. I worked on the project together with nine other students in the course Advanced Product Development at Luleå University of Technology. The result is a conceptual solution of a refuge chamber with capacity to store enough necessities for trapped miners to survive two weeks without contact with surface. The chamber has a modular moving system which allows it to always be close to the working area and possibility to move the chamber during blasting.
