CurrentMEND is a 510(c)3 hunger relief network based in Essex County, NJ.====================After an initial role as a grants and special projects consultant, was appointed by the board to direct the organization’s programs, community relationships, budget, and staff.Collaborate with the board and employees to:–Lift program value and donor ROI by transforming programming to prioritize the voices and nutrition needs of clients while also increasing fresh food access in food desert communities.–Rebuild the nonprofit’s structure in alignment with its new strategic focus; grew the number of trustees and employees, defined functions, introduced accountability metrics, and supported a workplace culture of engagement and development. –Boost community awareness of MEND’s programs as its primary spokesperson and by launching a communications strategy including website/social media/video content, newsletters, and annual appeal. –Create and implement diversified annual development plans with corporate grants, annual events, a major gifts program, and an expanded donor base, leading to triple-digit growth in funding.–Won the Impact100 Essex grant competition in 2019 from a field of 53 competitor organizations, resulting in funding for an innovative fresh food hub.
