I have had the opportunity to learn many things from others since I entered the work force. I became an EMT for Acadian Ambulance in 1998 just out of high school, and there I found my calling, helping people. I experienced the many facets of humanity on the various emergency and non-emergency calls that we ran in different areas of Louisiana. My partners and I earned Meritorious Service awards and many "Thank You" messages from patients we helped along the way. I worked for Acadian for 4 years.From there, I joined the Casino Rouge riverboat casino team for around 2 years and became an EMT/Security Officer, where I gained knowledge not only of the security and surveillance aspects of the job, but the increased perception needed while working in a gaming atmosphere. I also responded to any medical calls that came up with both staff and patrons and used my medical knowledge to assist them in whatever was needed.I was then offered to join the ranks of the Louisiana House of Representatives security and thus became an Assistant Seargent-at-Arms/EMT for the House for nearly 8 years. Normal daily tasks included securing areas of the State Capitol, responding to medical emergencies within the Capitol, assisting the Chief Sgt-at-Arms with any tasks, providing transportation for State Representatives and Senators to attend meetings not on campus, being present during Legislative Session and at various Committee meetings, etc. I also became Supervisor over the parking guards, ensuring smooth flowing traffic around the capitol grounds during Session. From there, I became a Lab Courier Base Manager for Spectra Labs/TSX, based at a satellite office in Baton Rouge. I oversaw the operations of our daily courier routes that picked up lab samples from around 70 dialysis clinics all across South Louisiana. From hiring new couriers, communicating with our main office in NJ, doing warehouse inventory on the medical supplies we provided to the dialysis clinics, ensuring proper end-of-day deliveries, time management, dissolving any conflicts that arose with clinic staff in a timely and compassionate manner, I managed to make our courier base team one of the best!I am now a Technical Advisor for PMIC-Physical Medicine & Injury Center in Baton Rouge, where I learned to hone my computer skills using the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premier Pro, etc) and create/produce/edit informative social media videos, among other tasks. I also edit medical procedure videos for personal injury cases.In my spare time, I run my own DJ/Karaoke company and have since 2003!
