• Managing multiple projects concurrently with a team of six junior members and working alongside corporate international and domestic tax experts to advise clients on tax structures and restructuring.• Advising and assisting a multibillion‐dollar multinational business in preparing a Master File and Local Files based on the latest OECD guidance and in accordance with local jurisdictional rules.• Structuring defense of transfer pricing policies when those policies came under contention by tax authorities.

• Developed multiple practice improvement programs. These programs included, but were not limited to: transfer pricing training guides, process memorandums, and marketing placemats which provided a high-level overview of transfer pricing laws and guidelines for clients. These programs resulted in reduced training costs for new hires, enhanced consistency and quality of deliverables produced by our junior staff, and improved overall communication and collaboration between clients, departments, and team members.

• Created a credit rating tool based on guidance provided by Standards & Poor’s and Moody’s credit methodologies to determine appropriate arm’s length interest rates for cross-border intercompany financing arrangements. This tool assisted in summarizing potential mismatching, identifying audit exposures, and calculating the impact of any transfer pricing penalties.

• Designed and wrote the computer programming code for a transfer pricing model. This program automated transfer pricing calculations which improved the accuracy and efficiency of every project which required the application of the transactional net margin method.

• Programmed an extensive excel workbook which plans, tracks, and analyzes multiple metrics for all Tax personnel in the Southern Ontario Business Unit. This tool included VBA macros and provided real-time-feedback with dynamic representations allowing each group to run more efficiently.• Managed all Bloomberg operations for Grant Thornton in North America. Projects performed included, but were not limited to: interest rate determination, advanced financial instruments analysis (FX option contracts involving hybrid put/call transactions), forward contracts, historical LIBOR investigations, and fair market valuation of generic investments.
