Throughout my career, I have helped small businesses start and/or grow their companies, typically from concept through $1M in sales (though many clients grow well beyond $1M, numerous others choose to stay well below $1M). I do this through 1-1 customized small business coaching and consulting. mastermind and peer-connect groups, and various virtual educational workshops and classes. I taught Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and Business 101 as an adjunct professor, and I have also created and taught small business planning classes to many entrepreneurs. My Entrepreneurial Grow Community, or MEG for short. MEG is where small business owners come to launch and grow their businesses. In addition to a free section, MEG provides premium services, including weekly cowork and spot coaching sessions on Tuesdays, where you work on and not just in your business. On Thursdays we meet for POWER HOURs, our mini-mastermind, a combination of coaching, conversation and collaboration. Members have access to training videos and other resources, in addition to several focused asynchronous spaces.MEG also hosts monthly networking events and occasional educational webinars. Support. Working with MEDC (Michigan Department of Economic Development) and the City of Ionia, I created a Steering Committee and subcommittees to address downtown revitalization, housing, broadband, and education and workforce challenges. I worked with community stakeholders to build a stronger foundation for future growth. based upon solid economic principles. Ionia has the tools to move into the future in alignment with their vision and continue to make a positive impact upon their stakeholders.

Loudoun Small Business Development Center, Inc. (SBDC and "the Center") was a nonprofit organization led by an esteemed Board of Directors for 28 years. The Center was a leader in small business assistance and local economic development. An accredited member of America's SBDCs, Loudoun SBDC was one of 29 Centers (3.4%) in the Virginia SBDC network. For the entire Virginia SBDC network, in 2014 Loudoun SBDC produced 13.5%/state business starts, 12.1%/state capital formation, 11.3%/jobs created and 10.2%/jobs retained - substantially more on all metrics than their 3.4% network percentage would predict. These amazing results were achieved with a staff of three accomplished professionals along with a dedicated group of subject matter experts who consistently delivered excellent and spot-on services for our clients. As Executive Director, I attribute part of Loudoun SBDC's success to constantly listening to our clients, hearing what they needed, and delivering those services. While Executive Director, I was able to achieve multifaceted goals across a complex organizational structure of diverse funding and community economic development partners, meeting funding partner's stated goals, and honing in at all times on accelerated success for our clients and stakeholders. When local companies grow, local economies thrive. Loudoun SBDC offered free one-one-one and group business counseling for Loudoun's entrepreneurs. The Center also produced three training seminars/networking events monthly that attracted attendees from DC and MD as well as VA. Those offerings included 1) business start-up and growth seminars on a variety of subjects, 2) monthly Loudoun Federal Contractors Networking Group and 3) Ad Hoc Advisory Board Program for growth companies.
