Imagine, design, and coordinate a summer-long community art project and open-ended outdoor "messy art" space for up to 500 campers, preK-5th grade. Supervise 2-3 staff members, coordinate with other camp departments, and support camp-wide programming.I feel very grateful to Camp Ramah Nyack for providing me the opportunity and space to experiment and make a big giant mess with campers every summer. In 2019 we created a 6' tree made from repurposed and recycled materials. All campers had a hand in creating the tree, whether by ripping / dyeing / weaving fabric, cutting cardboard leaves, building foil and tape branches, or making smaller details like birds nests, bee hives, flowers, and rocks. It was truly an amazing experience. Though camp was sadly closed for summer 2020, summer 2021 is going to be amazing!

Implement COVID-appropriate, push-in art education curriculum for K-2 classes. Sanitize, organize, and transport materials between classes, coordinate projects with head art teacher and classroom teachers, provide support for broader curricula.Due to COVID restrictions, the school decreased class size and therefore added many more classroom sections than the current art education faculty can visit each week. My position was added as a temporary support to the art faculty for as long as COVID restrictions remain in place.

Full time art educator for K-8 inclusion classrooms at a Jewish private school. Incorporated Hebrew language and Jewish themes, as well as science and history into art lessons. Coordinated with learning support specialists and other faculty.I initially began this role after the former art teacher left close to the beginning of the school year. It was a wild ride getting set up within a few days and beginning to coordinate my curriculum with the grades' curricula while also getting to know the students in the inclusion program. When we shut down because of COVID, I had to be creative (didn't we all?). In addition to my live zoom art classes, I created a website full of art videos, educational online activities, and downloadables for kids to visit during their downtime between zoom classes. I also created a daily art challenge and virtual gallery, where students and families uploaded their artwork and could comment on others' work. It was a great way to help continue our feeling of community and connect with others.While we knew that Carmel Academy would be closing its doors permanently at the end of the 2019-2020 school year, it was devastating to realize this closure would occur during the pandemic, when we would not be allowed to gather and say good-bye. Carmel Academy was a special place and I will miss it very much.
