The Netherlands and Canada have strong politics, culture, economy and trade ties. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands represents the Dutch interests in Canada with an emphasis on trade between the Netherlands and Canada. The economic department matches Dutch and Canadian companies and research institutions to one another, signaling economic opportunities and gives advice on Dutch companies doing business in Canada. In addition, it reports on the economic situation in Canada and organizes incoming trade missions and economic events.My contribution to the Dutch-Canadian partnership:• Organizing a TEDx event in Ottawa featuring Dutch and Canadian speakers to celebrate innovation and ideas for a better future.• Responsible for preparation and follow-up of a Dutch trade mission to Montreal with 6 participating organizations from the Netherlands. Amongst them several High Tech firms specialized in Astronomical Telescopes.• Contributed to several public diplomacy events involving Universities, NGO's and the Canadian government.• Responsible for chairing and preparing internal staff policy meetings.
