Robin Vuchnich is a New Media artist, graphic designer, and educator. Her work leverages technology and art to engage with public science and social change. Her recent public art installations highlight issues such as climate change, pandemic isolation, and racial justice, through serendipitous encounters with art in public and natural spaces. Involving projection mapped light, spatial augmented reality, generative art, and animation at monumental scale, these works have made a canvas of everything from museum walls to nine story buildings, the shoreline of the NC coast, and State Capitol building. Her professional practice includes new media design, experience design, visual art, and teaching design thinking methods in the context of business and academia as an Assistant Professor of the Practice at the NC State University College of Design. Her work has been published by The Southern Indiana Review, Communication Arts, PRINT Magazine, the Boston Globe, The News & Observer, and the AIGA. Recent work includes development of public art and interactive experiences for the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the North Carolina Museum of Art, Cary Arts Center, Cool Springs Downtown District, Downtown Raleigh Alliance, The NC Museum of History, and the Visual Art Exchange of Raleigh.
