Story Circle Network is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping women share the stories of their lives. Since 2007, I have served as a board member, and Editor-in-Chief and Graphic Designer of the quarterly newsletter, the Journal. I also design and oversee production of the annual Anthology, a collection of members’ stories and poems, as well as printed brochures and program materials for the organization’s national conferences.

I served in a dual role leading a team of Community Program Directors across all the branches of the Pikes Peak Region YMCA locations; and served as the Community Program Director of the Garden Ranch Y. I oversaw an organization comprised of 150 employees, with 20 direct reports; in addition to revenue-generating youth and family programs. I created a culture of accountability and customer service. I led the team in creating written standard operating procedures to ensure quality programming. I was responsible for hiring, on-boarding, training, coaching, and evaluating directors and frontline staff; and for managing a $500k budget for the department.

I conducted telephone interviews with applicants to provide information, answer questions, and help candidates visualize the possibilities that achieving a degree could make in their lives. I earned the company’s Circle of Excellence Award by achieving metrics ratings in the top 3%; and my peers selected me for the Team Spirit Award. I served as a Team Mentor for two successive team assignments, assisting with team development, coaching, and training.

In this independent home health care and hospice agency, I was responsible for developing relationships with physicians, hospitals, and nursing homes to maximize patient referrals. I administered patient intakes and discharges, scheduled staff, and ensured compliance with state and federal regulating agencies. I developed and managed content for the website, and managed external communications and public relations. I led the agency’s volunteer program; recruited, trained, and motivated approximately 20 volunteers.

As a freelance editor, graphic designer, and marketing consultant, I assisted small businesses in developing and implementing successful marketing plans. I designed and produced printed collaterals such as newsletters, annual reports, and sales brochures.

I assisted the Council Scout Executive in the budgeting process, and served as advisor to the Council Executive Board and Operating Committees. I worked collaboratively with the council's District Executives in managing their district's budgets.
