I have more than 23 years of experience in the field of XR/VR/AR, both industry and research with more than 50 publications. My journey started in 2000, developing for CAVE-like systems and SGI supercomputers to now mostly for Meta Quest, mobile devices, Apple VisionPro and others. My educational background includes a PhD in Immersive Collaborative Virtual Environments, an MSc degree in Parallel and Scientific Computation, and a German engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Computer Engineering.Before joining Exozet/Endava, I was working as scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) for 6 years, and for about 10 years in academia at universities in UK, Finland and China. Senior ResearcherUniversity Of Salford Oct 2008 - Dec 2008In a 4 weeks pilot study, I was investigating the potential of an optical marker-based tracking system for capturing the motion of human lip movements and, based on that, animating the mouth of a 3D cartoon character for a new learning tool supporting deaf children learning lip reading.After that, I was working on porting an extended immersive collaborative virtual environment software system from an SGI shared-memory super-computer to a cluster of 9 high-end SUN workstations, integrating a 12 camera Vicon motion tracking system and configuring an 8 wall immersive projection based display. -
