Driven by a desire to make a large positive contribution to the world. That's the goal! Naively tried to fix climate change through mass-producing a new type of nuclear powerplant. Got fully disillusioned, and had to reassess my direction and methods for achieving my life goal. (Read: existential crisis). I wondered, how come climate change was allowed to become such a big problem in the first place? Back in the 70's we already knew it was going to be as catastrophic as its slowly turning out to be. And yet, we didn't really do anything for at least another 50 years! Why! Well, I think that can be boiled down to a combination of selfish and irrational decision making. And really, whatever happens to get you mad, whether its climate change, war, corruption, pollution or whatever, finds its origin in some combination of selfish and irrational decision making on every scale. Our biggest problem, is that we create so many problems! And so the most holistic solution to our problems, is preventing them. Rather than focusing on the greatest challenges of our time, I want to focus on the greatest challenge of every time. Because the greatest challenges of our time are just the symptom, the messenger, of our choices and behavior that invent, create and grow those problems. No matter how many symptoms we change, man is relentlessly inventive at finding new ways to mess it up again! I seek to instill with the will and skill to contribute to a better world for all, forever.Competence follows desire, so the desire to aid rather than diminish is where we should start. After that, we watch that desire compound.
