In Dec 2017, I retired from the position of Chairman of the KPMG practice in Queensland where the role included responsibility for KPMG's profile and brand in the Qld market and building a client centric culture within the firm. Previous to this role, I was the Managing Partner of the Audit Division in Qld from 2002 to 2013 and established the local Transaction Services Practice on my return from London in 2000, working with that group from 2000 to 2008.I had 40 years experience with KPMG, specialising in the Financial Services and Mining industries. I spent 2 years in London as a partner in the UK Financial Services Group from 1997 to 1999. Areas of Focus and Experience: Throughout my career, I have worked across a number of different areas including Audit, Deals Advisory, Corporate Recovery and CFO Advisory. My interactions have been primarily in the public company space focussing on Assurance to Boards and Audit Committees, governance processes, regulatory compliance, acquisition and vendor due diligence, IPO's and capital raisings. I am currently a Board/Council member of a number of organisations in the education, local government and business sectors.Personal Interests: In my youth, I played both Cricket and Rugby at club level and I continue to maintain a keen interest in both. For recreation, I play the occasional game of Tennis and Golf.
