Mentone, Alabama (Summer Position)

During the summer of 2017 I was in charge of the ropes course at Alpine Camp for Boys in Mentone, Alabama. Throughout the summer I oversaw the safe operation of the high ropes course and managed eight college-aged staff members. My responsibilities included scheduling, staffing, and coordinating the operation of each high ropes element. My staff and I helped young boys conquer their fear of heights and the unknown. Additionally we sought to foster collaborative skills and problem solving through the use of games and various challenges. It was an incredibly enriching and rewarding experience. Was responsible for the service, installation, and inspection of fire extinguisher installations for factories, municipalities, businesses, and homes.

Worked closely with multiple audit teams and clients as an intern with Deloitte in Memphis, TN. On my internship I was exposed to various industries such as agricultural products and commodities trading, real estate investment trusts, and hospitality concerns. Gained experience with various tests of controls, revenue cutoff testing, cash and receivables testing, engagement team and client meetings, client contact/relationships, canvas/adobe editor/proprietary audit programs, and much more. Additionally, during this time as an intern I increased, greatly, my proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Was offered (and accepted) full-time position as audit staff upon the conclusion of the internship.

Responsible for day-to-day functions such as mail pick up and delivery, client communication and correspondence, subpoena generation and authorization, in-house document filing, and for running documents to courthouses across Northern Mississippi and the Mississippi Delta to be filed with various Justice, Chancery, Circuit, and Federal Courthouses. Among other duties, I also was responsible for local and regional process service to businesses, banking institutions, and individuals. Other responsibilities included the use of Microsoft excel for data compilation, organization, and analysis for the attorneys and paralegals. Documents I generated were used both internally and externally during various engagements.

Taylor, Ms

Taylor Grocery is a famous "eat place" located in Taylor, Mississippi. If you are ever in Oxford to catch a game or for a recruiting event, you simply have to try it. You would be doing yourself a tremendous disservice not to attend. I worked on the fry truck, a 25 foot-long trailer with fryers, ovens, and a large grill, preparing many of the catered items such as fried chicken, fried brownies, fried dill pickles, hushpuppies, and fried catfish. I was known, also, to cook the occasional steak depending on the client. (If you're a little hungry after reading this, I apologize.) Most of the events we catered were for gatherings of 100 or more with as many as 700 on more than one occasion. During this time I learned how to provide a consistent, delicious, and an excellent product again and again without sacrificing quality or safety. The logistics of these events were complicated and during this time I learned a great deal about organization, system implementation, and general staffing consideration.
