Profile bio

About Rob Kissner, Mba

I flourish in exploring complex problems. The ebb and flow of convergent and divergent mindsets, combining big-picture thinking and reframing through constraints is the most energizing and exciting part of the design thinking framework. I am the Program Manager and Small Business Advisor at GaelVentures, the student and community incubator at Iona's Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. As a spoke in the SBA-funded Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP), I help veterans start and grow businesses. In addition to organizing workshops and webinars, I meet with veterans one-on-one to assess their business needs, provide guidance, and leverage the CNPP network to access resources, legal advice, loan assistance, and more. I also teach entrepreneurship and Design Thinking at the Hynes Institute.I am also the Founder and President of The Digital Arts Experience a technology enrichment business. The company launched in 2011 and was the original STEM education program in Westchester. The DAE opened with an 8000 sq/ft facility and included a recording studio, photo/video studio, makerpsace, 8 computer labs, and a flexible presentation space. In 2015 I launched Digital Arts Express, which is a mobile computer lab that can accommodate 10 students and has power, wifi, and a 3D printer. This vehicle was designed to make DAE programs accessible to everyone - if schools didn't have space or equipment to host a class, we could bring the classroom to them.I love learning, especially as a team and I am extremely passionate about thinking divergently and being creative. Technology and its role in helping us create have been a driving force for me since I was a kid, and I have a strong background in media production, particularly in sound.

Listed skills include Video Production, Mac, Sound, Audio Engineering, and 34 others.
