With my education in economics, specialising in Marketing and Market research, I have worked at all levels within IT organizations, and have thus acquired technical ‘hands-on’ experience as well as experience with project- & program management and defining strategy. In addition, I have gained significant experience in operational management and general management.My 15 years of experience in the complex and rapidly changing world of IT has been gained at Baan Company, Philips, NedStars and in various small and large companies, including (semi) governmental institutions.I not only have experience in expanding IT departments, but can also impose departmental reductions in the number of people and budget when this is warranted due to the prevailing economic climate.The management of teams and people internationally (India, USA, Singapore etc) has enhanced my management experience. I am used to working with smaller (less than 1 million euro) as well as larger budgets (5 to 20+ million euro) and with smaller teams (1-10 persons) as well as with larger teams (50 to 100+ persons).I have introduced uniformity and structure in the organizations where I have worked. In addition, I have merged people and technology by optimally deploying IT solutions, thus enabling the relevant organisation to operate more efficiently. In this respect, ‘out-of-the-box’ and ‘breakthrough’ thinking plays a vital role towards achieving this objective. Not the present scenario, but the desired future scenario is taken as a point of departure, and a structured approach is adopted in order to achieve this future scenario.With regard to the customers, I do not sell what they ask for, but what they really need. In this respect, you really need to know who your customer is, and what his wishes and challenges are, but also be fully conversant with the latest developments in technology. I am therefore able to optimally match the needs of the customer with what the ‘technologists’ can supply.
