I founded Online50 with the intention of allowing small businesses to work more closely with their accountant - enabling higher quality management decisions to be made. We were the online provider to offer a mainstream accounting software package over the Internet, kick starting the UK Online accounting software market.I have built Online50 from scratch to a hosting company providing a broad range of services, with specialism in hosting applications for small businesses. I have lead the company to develop its own IP (system software) and unmatched expertise in hosting packaged accounting software - mainly Sage 50 accounts and SAP Business One.

I set up Protronics with a co-founder initially to work on an embedded systems project but we quickly moved into the provision of IT services, building expertise in the supply of mid market accounting systems.

My marketing role at Symicron embraced product marketing and development as well as brand identity and market positioning. It was a great challenge and we introduced some technically innovative products - notably the modular 'BRIC' range of networking devices.

I joined this small UK network equipment manufacturer to work initially on their real-time embedded protocol stacks (mainly ISO protocols) and later as their Windows device driver team lead. Working with embedded communication software enabled me to learn about efficient design as well as the importance of 'always on' software.
