I speak the language of communications AND public affairs. No translator needed. Organizations need communications professionals who understand the dynamics of government and politics, who can recognize the patterns and process of public affairs and can develop and implement strategies that are heard above the cacophony of competing interests. Organizations also need government affairs professionals who can effectively communicate--in writing, verbally, on social media, and face-to-face--to different audiences for different purposes. Positivity is my strongest trait. It is a lens that allows me to see possibilities where others see obstacles. It allows me to see what makes people valuable (and then utilize those talents). It is also a motivating and calming voice during frustrating times. No naiveté. It is called work for a reason. Things get tough. I don't get frustrated. WE can do this.
