I provide advice across the full range of IP rights, including patents, trade marks, copyright and design rights. I also assist businesses develop overseas markets for their products and services, managing international brands and working with tried and trusted associates to enforce rights and resolve disputes around the world. My recent international work includes dealing with matters in Brazil, Canada, USA, India, Italy and Germany. My clients range from large multinationals to owner-managed businesses, whether based in the UK or overseas. I am well known for supporting packaging, fragrance, cosmetic and retail businesses. I was successful as the lead lawyer in the important design right decision of Albert Packaging Limited and Others v. Nampak Cartons & Healthcare Limited ([2011] EWPCC 15). I act for a number of fragrance and cosmetic manufacturers and suppliers, in respect of their activities in the UK and around the world; this includes licensing rights from household name celebrities and sport stars and advising on licensing deals with well-known brands.Recent work in the media and entertainment sectors includes advising a sports management agency, undertaking work for an international darts tournament, advising on the sponsorship of a professional boxer and in the production of animation, film and online games.
