Initially joining as a contracted consultant, Vodafone employed me to lead several complex transformational projects. I was ultimately accountable for leading the Carrier Architecture team, delivering the successful design and development of products within the Carrier Services Portfolio. I demonstrated thought leadership with a 1 – 3 year forward view of the Technology Roadmap and led the product development of all carrier products, including International Voice Routing, Messaging Hub, IPX 4G Roaming & Submarine Cable Systems. IP Transit is the enabler for all Internet based content and services for Vodafone's 460+ million subscribers Working closely with key stakeholders in multiple teams within the Vodafone Group organisation to drive and deliver multiple key development projects (ongoing):- OSS / BSS design and optimisation for billing, delivery and assurance- Feature enhancementsThis project has been particularly complex as a number of legacy systems being replaced are quite heavily integrated into build, billing and assurance systems. I am the architectural lead responsible for E2E design and delivery of strategic design for this project which includes complete detailed analysis on the current global estate, functional and non-functional requirement assessment, RAIDs, intra-team liaising involving a virtual team of over 90 stakeholders across the entire business. Emphasis on planning, testing, execution have been key to this transformation project for which is undergoing significant investment.Following early assessments, detailed high level designs are being delivered as part of theprogramme. It has been a hybrid development involving a mixture of waterfall and agile methodologies.I am also a member of the Technical Quality Assurance board, which includes peer reviews, knowledge sharing and recommendations.
