Michael Best Strategies LLC (MBS) provides a full range of services related to public policy strategy, with a focus on lobbying, strategic planning and public relations in support of businesses navigating their relationship with federal, state and local governments. In my role, I assist clients in identifying opportunities to grow their businesses and designing and implementing strategies to achieve those goals. I alsomanage the day-to-day operations of MBS and work with the President of MBS to accomplish our mission.

Served as chief operating officer of agency that administers the Wisconsin Retirement System and the state employee group health insurance program. Helped launch and lead business modernization and technology integration initiatives, including necessary advocacy to secure funding approval via the state budget process. Helped lead efforts to modernize the state's approach to providing employee benefits.

Oversaw the parliamentary and business operations of the Senate. Advised Senators and staff concerning legislative procedure and the day to day operations of Senate offices. Worked closely with Senate leadership, as well as leaders and staff of the legislative service agencies.

Advised legislators and staff and drafted legislation relating to election law, corporate law, construction law, financial institutions, and economic development. Developed extensive knowledge of the legislative drafting and state budget process.
