Computers have always interested me. Technology was always a twisting, confusing enigma that seemed so far out of reach for me, but when my high school finally decided to offer a computer science course that was something more than just Microsoft Office, I jumped on it. However, I was left disappointed. It was very surface level material, but it did set me on the right track. I decided that if I wanted to learn more, I had to do it myself, and bought a Raspberry PI and created things like doorbells and a buzzer every time someone entered my room. Learning Linux and Python was hard, but I really enjoyed it and didn't seem to be too difficult as I was having so much fun.Later on, I enrolled in college to continue my hunt for more knowledge. Being surrounded by knowledgeable professors and students interested in the same things I was too was also a great experience. I learned how to write in Java and SQL, but also learned other concepts like data structures, algorithms and calculus. In my sparse free time, I joined and helped our Computer Science Club build an AI driven car that roamed the halls of our science building and then returned to charge on its own. However, now as my college experience begins to come to a close, I wish to look outward for more chances to apply what I know, and begin to learn what I do not.
