· As a singer in Eastern University's tour choir, Turning Point, I was paid to drive from place to place promoting the school through music. Not only did I need to be a skilled musician, but I also needed to have good people skills as I interacted with potential applicants and financial donors, even having to stay at their houses in cases of multi-day journeys. Although typically an auditioned position, I was specifically asked by the head of the music department to join and, after leaving two years later, was asked several times again to rejoin. I opted not to so I could focus on academics.
