Built a new security program for this $300M, 325 staff, healthcare claims clearing house that complied with HIPAA, SOX, and PCI regulations and EHNAC certification requirements.Managed $5 million infrastructure and operations budget and directed a cross-functional team of network, security, and telecom engineers tasked with the design, implementation, and maintenance of a fully redundant and fault tolerant nation wide data and voice infrastructure that supported real-time and batch EDI transactions between 550,000 healthcare provider-customers, 42,000 pharmacies, 200 labs and 1,500 insurance payers.Integrated security testing into the development and QA processes and conducted periodic vulnerability analysis resulting in more secure code, faster delivery, and less rework. Renegotiated datacenter and network service provider contracts saving $2 million/year in telecom and datacenter expenses while increasing bandwidth, SLA provisions, power, and space.Deployed a training program to successfully change the security paradigm and incorporate security and privacy controls into all employees' daily activities.
