In my role, I provide deep level support for our core IT infrastructure. It is a very interesting position in that it crosses all of the traditional pillars of IT - Unix to Windows, networking, backups and storage. On one day, I may be researching driver and firmware compatibility issues and on another day, I'm pushing for architectural changes to spread workloads and mitigate risks. I'm very hands-on with daily operations, and I am also very involved in designing solutions for core infrastructure and SAP systems. Daily Responsibilities: * All Unix and Linux systems including Veritas Clusters running on Solaris systems * Blade infrastructure including c7000 enclosures, Blade Servers, Flexfabric and Flex-10 VirtualConnect interconnects * Fiber Channel SANs in US, Europe and Asia with Brocade Switches and a mix of EMC VNX, HP EVA and HP 3par Arrays * HP Data Protector Backups with SAN attached ESL G3 tape library. * Platform support for all SAP systems running Microsoft Windows 2008 and 2012 in standalone and Clustered configurations * Shell scripting (bash, powershell, php, etc.) Major Projects and Accomplishments: * Data Center Relocations* Taking back support responsibilities for EMC Storage and Unix environments from outsourcing vendor* Scripting storage replication process for EMC storage in Solaris VxFS environment* Hardware Refresh in an aging SUN/EMC environment * Operating System/Database Migration project - transitioning from Oracle/Solaris to SQL/Windows for cost savings* Data Protector Upgrade and Hardware Refresh* Implement a Hot Disaster Recovery site* Scripted storage replication process for 3par storage and Windows 2012 using powershell
