Graduated from East Carolina University with a master of science degree in chemistry. Worked with principal investigator Dr. Shouquan Huo and during the time there contributed to three publications. Research was mainly focused on the investigation of a just discovered organometallic reaction and the synthesis and characterization of newly developed cyclometalated platinum complexes for potential applications in OLEDs and bioimaging. Built a strong skillset for a wide array of instrumentation through investigations and characterization of compounds. After graduating, began work at Patheon, Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in the Pharmaceutical Development Services, Analytical Development department. Performed release/stability testing, developed and validated analytical methods for sterile and lyophilized biologic drug products with minimal supervision in a cGMP environment. Managed multiple projects as a project lead and regularly interacted with clients. Currently working at KBI Biopharma in the Mass Spectrometry Core Facility department, performing top down and bottom up mass spectral analysis/characterization on biological drug products and drug substances. Specifically for peptide mapping/sequence coverage determination, intact mass analysis for protein identification, glycan analysis and host cell protein identifications.
