About Rob Mullas
I have 6 Years of professional engineering experience with Chrysler and General Motors. During my current 4- year tenure at Chrysler I have performed roles as Body Engineer. During which I have launched 4 vehicles new vehicle lines including the Seabring/Avenger, Dodge Journey and Dodge RAM. During the Journey launch as a team member or idea generator we were able to identify over $700,000 in cost reduction through innovation and part reduction, I also have 4 years professional experience as a Plant Scheduler/Planner with AM General. General Motors and AM General entered into an agreement to produce the newest generation of HUMMERS - called the HUMMER H2. The H2 project is a “Go Fast” 16 months Vehicle Development Plan which had never been done before in automotive history. The HUMMER H2 was a Greenfield launch for AM General. I was part of a team that worked in a simulated work environment to evaluate potential new line worker hires. I was also responsible for writing all the Scheduling area work instruction and flow diagrams for ISO certification. During this time I managed a staff of two operational professionals to conduct production trial runs, process engineering changes and implementing production computer systems to reduce production costs.Prior to starting in the automotive industry I spent 13 years as a part owner of a environmental firm (Michigan Environmental Auditors) conducting environmental audits for asbestos, lead and underground storage tanks. While at Michigan Environmental Auditors I wrote and managed many environmental abatement projects for clients like Wayne State University and City of Southfield Michigan.I also was Honorably Discharge from active duty with the United States Marine Corp. Where I studied Basic Electronics.Specialties: I have held several positions most recently as BIW engineer specializing in program management, build coordination, body structure and lean manufacturing. I’ve been involved in 6 vehicle launches and have been recognized for outstanding efforts in the areas of cost reduction, quality improvement and lean manufacturing; providing no-cost service to my employer.
