Working as a Research Editor for an education-based online compliance resource, my role focusses on providing guidance and advice to customers, liaising with multiple schools on a daily basis. I created a range of documents to meet briefs, including guidance documents, school policies, leaflets, infographics, posters, blogs and letters, with the aim of communicating need-to-know information to a variety of audiences. I also contribute to the marketing of these resources through numerous media channels, creating promotional statements and graphics. As well as undertaking copywriting duties, I contribute to the strategic direction of company services by collating feedback and monitoring the impact of our work. During my time at TheSchoolBus I have assisted the company’s marketing team in a number of ways, including by preparing landing pages, managing social media accounts using Hootsuite and creating social media posts, and interviewing customers to compile feedback for case studies.To assist the company in gauging how our customers are receiving the product, I compiled data for, and undertook, a customer survey. In doing this I gained first-hand experience using MailChimp and learnt how to address the customers, e.g. by using the right tone and approach in the email. I have also, as part of my CPD, undertaken wider reading based around content marketing, PR and social marketing. To enhance my copywriting skills I recently been reading and completing the exercises found in ‘Read Me’ by Roger Horberry and Gyles Lingwood.

I continued with a customer service based role at Metro Rod, liaising with the franchises engineers and various clients in order to give the best experience possible. I have also assisted Metro Rod’s marketing department, attending and photographing events and writing press releases for the company.
