I am a qualified structural engineering from D.I.T. Bolton Street, and have worked for Mahon Engineers and VB Engineers submitting fire certs and fire evacuation plans and designing house extensions. Previously I was with BFP Engineering drafting drawings and designing structures for apartment blocks. I’ve also worked as a junior engineer on the M7 Kildare bypass with Roadbridge.Lack of job opportunities in my field after qualifying due to the economic climate in Ireland meant between 2007 and 2010 I co-managed my family business, Crookstown Service Station & Retail Park, a 5 acre site with an annual turnover of $7 million. This also included a major restructuring and design of the premises with the addition, planning and construction of a medical centre, pharmacy, butchers and craft village.Recently I was responsible for the reopening of The Botanic House Bar & Grill and returning it to a profitable business while also working in a stock management company responsible for stock control for the Quinn group of pubs in Baggot Street.I also maintain and upgrade the I.T. requirements and web profile for Crookstown Service Station & Retail Park on a monthly basis.
