Fully immersed in the healthcare industry, I work with health organisations, both public sector and private sector: helping them to get the most out of the technology they have (often, but these days not exclusively, their on-premises stuff) and to plan, strategically, for how they will achieve the maximum benefit from technology they will have in the future - i.e. exciting cloud stuff like Artificial Intelligence (AI) Robotic Process Automation, Azure (anything from backup and DR to Data Lakes, predictive analytics and app development) and digital transformation of productivity, unleashing the full potential of Office 365. Then, once we have a plan, we put it into action and look at the next thing we want to achieve. It's an excellent way to spend my time..It's an exciting time to look at the many ways cloud can help make people's lives better and help them achieve more. Once you define clear goals, align well-defined strategies and tactics and are able to prove concepts quickly and efficiently, there are genuinely no (ok, few!) limits to what can be achieved and what's more, the timescales for achieving them are shorter than they have ever been.If you are a health organisation and are interested in the cloud, drop me a line. Projects I'm involved in at present range from:- Hosting legacy apps on Azure (freeing up aging on premises data centres and providing a better, scalable service to the users, - Simple storage augmentation: storing huge medical imaging files in Azure, very cheaply as opposed to filling up expensive on-premises storage, - Creating lakes of data, structured and unstructured and building machine learning algorithms to gain some fascinating insight from traditionally disconnected data sources. - Automating complex processes with AI to free up humans to do what they do best - be creative and care for people.- Hybrid VMWare - Azure VMWare Services - helping Trusts take the pressure off their on-prem DC by connecting it to the cloud, whilst not requiring any new skills of their teams (It's just VMWare and VSphere!) as a bonus, any end of support SQL and Windows becomes eligible for free Extended Security Updates (ESUs) once they're in Azure - they cost 75% of the base license cost for on prem! And everything in between!
