I'm a student-centered educator and advisor with experience teaching at the university, high school, and middle school levels. Throughout my time in education, I've consistently engaged students’ decision making processes and promoted responsible academic choices. I also celebrates students’ small and large successes, both in and out of the classroom. Furthermore, I build strong relationships with my students and encourage them to take advantage of support services and other available resources as a way to drive academic success, retention, and program completion. Early in my career, I spent fifteen years working in manufacturing as a supervisor and general laborer. Then, I decided to change my life by earning a college degree and pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Unfortunately, I graduated at a time when education jobs were hard to come by in my local area. After holding several short-term roles, I accepted a customer service/retail role to support my family. Now, seven years later, I'm excited for the challenge of returning to education and making a difference in the field I love. I’m always excited to network with other professionals. Please feel free to contact me at 715-459-2325 or robpockat@gmail.com so we can make introductions.
