There were two strands to my work at Ellis & Co., the firm that was home to my full ten years working as a lawyer: legal practice on the one hand and technology on the other.As a solicitor, I specialised in wills, trusts and probate, charity law and conveyancing. As the firm's in-house IT expert, I developed and installed an extremely cost-effective network and PC infrastructure. This included building the firm's first file and print (Linux) server from components. I also developed automated (programmatic) forms in MS Word, including an HMRC approved Stamp Duty Land Tax form, complete with 2D barcode.
