M-SAAVE (Michigan Sustainability Applications for Aerospace Vehicle Engineering) is an engineering project team developing an unmanned autonomous drone to be used by Air-Serv International to extend their capabilities in performing humanitarian aid missions in rural Africa. The drone will use a modular payload system to deliver medical and other cargo, map terrain, and perform general surveillance all autonomously. I’m leading the Payload Design and Delivery Subteam, and I’m responsible for all subsystem development and organization. More specifically my responsibilities include:• Organizing and leading subteam meetings• Lead initial cargo and surveillance module trade studies• Lead the design and manufacturing of the payload system• Work with Avionics and Controls subteam to communicate signal requirements• Work with Power subteam to communicate power requirements• Utilize Siemens NX to create CAD models of the system• Keep updated BOM, mass budget, and power budget for the system and communicate them to the relevant people and teams.

Reverse engineered 6 complex parts from 3D scans and manual measurements for reproduction with FDM and SLA 3D printing for prototyping and end use parts. Developed multiple projects in parallel, using rapid prototyping principles to quickly and efficiently design, build, and test useful prototypes using Fusion 360 and various slicers like PrusaSlicer, Ultimaker Cura, and Simplify3D.Optimized parts for 3D printing, utilizing advanced techniques like bridging, sacrificial layers, and overhangs to minimize print time, material costs, and post processing labor.

Using Python to process, combine, and analyze millions of datapoints from AMC12 and OMNI satellites to aid PI in investigating the effects of solar weather on charged particles in the magnetosphere. Additionally comparing data from GOES13 satellite to verify findings from AMC12.

Created and executed test cases for new features in PCTrans software for transportation dispatchers, and devised a system to organize and document test cases for later use.
