Performed stress analyses, bolted joint design, and structure and weld analysis using AISC design criteria.- Have acquired over 2,000 hours of combined CAD usage between SolidWorks, Solid Edge, CREO, Inventor, and SpaceClaim, as well as many hundreds of hours developing 2D drawings in SolidWorks for assemblies and multi-level bill’s-of-material.- Re-designed and prototyped nuclear plant maintenance tools, contributing to prototype fabrication via manual and CNC machining; oversaw testing.- Analyzed a forklift attachment using the finite element method and evaluated for static and fatigue failure using the ANSI/AISC 360 specification.- Developed a custom Python application for performing stress evaluations based on finite element analysis results.- Analyzed a process apparatus according to ASME VIII Div. 2 and recommended design changes based on finite element analysis results. Proposed a modified design in order to accommodate thermal stresses and meet code requirements.- Analyzed underground water storage tanks under earth and hydraulic loading. Included material plasticity, and worked with customer to modify design and resolve issues with excessive strain and tank collapse.
