Shaking Hands was an Award Winning business on a mission to facilitate the best rooms for business, in the business. Hosting over 3,000 Decision Makers & Directors locally and facilitating some of the most influential, educational and inspiring rooms for business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs in South London. Shaking Hands Membership was more than just a networking organisation, it encompassed our Business Brokerage, Bespoke Introductions, Contractor Sourcing, Event Coordination, Weekly Newsletters, Venue Directory, Event Calendar, Member Directory and much more. Due to the impacts of Covid and Brexit, Shaking Hands was forced to cease operations. Shaking Hands positively effected countless businesses, initiatives, information releases, community engagement and development programs and more. Sitting on 4 Council led boards, from future place development to nighttime economy. As part of these boards, we review, focus, and aim to tackle oncoming and upcoming challenges for the business community of Croydon. The work we've been able to achieve thanks to our membership has lead to a potential London wide framework, and London Living Wage being implemented in over 58 organisations, employing thousands across the borough. This business was deeply invested and integrated into London's largest and most diverse borough. Our teams actions, events and introductions still lead to business being generated today.

Telsa Media is a digital marketing agency that specialise in all kinds of online marketing & lead generation, including, SEO, PPC, Website Design, Branding & Logo Design, Social Media Management, Content Production, Mobile Apps and Reputation Management in London.This position enabled me to meet, understand and develop strategies for businesses failing to meet their online expectations, requirements or needs by utilising the in-house team of professionals to ensure all aspects of their digital profile were managed, improved and funnelled into a sales or lead source. Digital ROI can outperform most other marketing channels if it's crafted, targeting and collected effectively. This position helped me to work within a team that could completely change an entire business's performance within weeks due to lead acquisition, retention, retargeting and information storage.

Brighton

Regularly hosting some of the worlds most famous music artists, DJ's and performers, The Arch is one of the seafront's most famous and prestigious nightclubs. Decades of top quality events have made the building become renowned for being one of the South’s major dance music institutions. Acts including Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Annie Mac, Deadmau5, Jamie Jones, Sven Vath and many more have performed within the venue. This position enabled me to get hands on in the day to day running of a nightclub and business within the hospitality sector. Covering the full spectrum of team, stock, client and revenue management; within one of the UK's most visited tourist and student locations. This position was thoroughly enjoyable, incredibly diverse day to day and dynamic with the introduction and development of a seafront day trade revenue stream.

Lewes

Working to further develop one of the UK's top classic car showrooms based in Lewes, both online and in-person. Selling some of the world's most acclaimed sports cars of all times, Sussex Sports Cars client list includes well known TV and radio personalities, multi-national corporation CEOs and renowned international car collectors. This position not only developed my customer service and sales techniques but also my time, client, team and project management skills. With a fantastic director, I was able to learn more about the art of a deal, ensuring all parties leave happy, healthy and benefitting from the interaction even if a deal on the day isn't to be done. I was entrusted to ensure the security on £M's of inventory; enjoy, deliver and test drive the inventory and the closing of sales including paperwork and service agreements.

This unknown at the time 'future defining' position truly did exceed my placement opportunity expectations. Working alongside a wide range of industry experts, I learned to fully appreciate and develop a true understanding of business value, how it's created, built upon and developed in preparation for sale. This position included identifying organisations that would be interested in acquiring the businesses currently for sale within the brokerages profile for outreach. This could be for horizontal or vertical expansion/integration, product range expansion, competitor removal, IP, site location, site flexibility, etc.With two dynamic directors, a dedicated team and a diverse portfolio; this business taught me a lot about the world of business, value creation and team work.
