Recruited from BCE/Emergis and reporting directly to the CEO, the prime focus of this position was to create an Information Technology Department that would take responsibility for all production computing systems from Head Office servers to regional desktop computers across North America.This included:- Implementing a call tracking procedure for service requests - Documenting existing network infrastructure and resolving bandwidth issues- Establishing a proper backup procedure and schedule- Creating and Administering a more reliable e-mail service- Building a secure Intranet server (IIS server with SSL connectivity)- Maintaining and monitoring services such as DNS, HTTP, MS SQL 7, file and print services, as well as the accounting application (WinSol)- Assuring Anti-Virus policies were enforced on every corporate system- Sourcing and recommending new technologies- Working with service providers to resolve networking issues in all corporate offices

Supervise a team of seven employees to provide workstation and network support. Primarily responsible for the design and configuration of two hundred Corporate Workstations, as well as second level support to the Workstation Analyst in resolving escalated trouble tickets.Supplementary tasks involved assisting the Manager of Network Support Services in the planning, organizing and control of seventy non-mainframe systems management and LAN/WAN functions.
