This role had the responsibility of ensuring that the IS services continued on day one of the contract while transferring from an MOD owned IT system to a Babcock owned, this transition went smoothly as a result of a lot of hard work from a small but professional IT team. I am currently continuing in an interim Service Assurance Role at a Divisional level, this role extends my scope to all 5 business units that make up the Division. However the continuing migration of IS services into the centralise IT function within DSG takes the majority of my day.Key achievement• Carried out the role of “Lead-in Service Continuity lead” for the acquisition of DSG and it transfer of ownership to Babcock, With the added complication of changing from an MOD owned Trading Fund and a 3rd Party partner. The day to day management of the service was controlled via 4 direct reports and a total of 34 other staff, with a combined capital and revenue budget of circa £2.5M. As one of only two reports into the Head of IT, I was accountable for the support of 3 data centres (two in the UK and one in Germany), the provision of 1st , 2nd & 3rd line support for all infrastructure, end points, applications as well as training. Via Business Relationship Managers I provided SLA and KPI information on the service and also supported the business capturing new IS requirements in order to start an effective Project Management process. At the other end of the project life cycle via a Test and Quality Manager I was accountable for accepting new IS services or changes to existing services into the steady state environment.Key achievements• Acted as the IS Technical lead for the decommissioning of two MOD FM contracts with a combine operational revenue of circa £330 million. The effect and efficient delivery of the IS aspects of this project has received plaudits from the Babcock CEO, the incoming contractor and the DIO client.• After Babcock won a contract to provide to total facilities management services to all of the British forces in Germany, I project managed the survey, installation and ongoing support for 11 site delivery offices with a 5 month mobilisation timescale, all of the sites had the added complexity of being on MOD premises and on a restricted network. This was followed a few years later with a move of the Primary Germany Data Centre. This required the Data centre to be moved 250 miles over a single weekend. Show less
