In addition, responsible for oversight of approximately $250 million in commercial mortgage loans held on the balance sheet for investment. Managed an in-house staff of six personnel and reported directly to the Chief Investment Officer. Achieved and/or exceeded investment objectives each year and maintained a quality mortgage portfolio that consistently out-performed its industry peers. Delta Life was sold to AmerUs Life Holdings in December of 1997 for $185 million.
