During his time in school, he focused on leading a team of aquaponic researchers, specifically by designing and building aquaponic systems for the college and surrounding schools. After college, he moved to Boulder, Colorado where he worked as a cultivator in an industrial-scale vertical hydroponic cannabis facility.In 2017, Rob began working for The Aquaponic Source. Initially, his focus was in residential and school aquaponic system design and installation, but quickly transitioned into working with commercial aquaponic farming projects. In 2019, Rob took over as the Director of Sales & Product Development for The Aquaponic Source. His main role is to take both experienced and first-time aquaponic farmers through the entire commercial farm build process. He listens to the client’s goals, and advises on site planning, greenhouse, and indoor facility design. Rob then creates a custom-designed aquaponic farm tailored to the client’s production and business goals. He then coordinates the manufacturing of the farm, and sends all system components and construction materials to the client’s location. Rob is also the lead farm installer for The Aquaponic Source, and his team arrives on site to build the farm, test it, and train the client on the operation of the farm. In summary, Rob Tolette specializes in providing turn-key customized aquaponic farms that are thoughtfully designed and optimized for the clients business goals.Beyond designing and building aquaponic farms, Rob also is an educator in the field of aquaponics. Specifically, he gives talks and educates about the farm design process, aquaponic farm business planning, and new aquaponic technology.
