Designed and developed multiple REST APIs used to interface with the back end video hardware APIs, for the Observer product using the Laravel 5.x framework and PHP 7.x.Created a middle ware API for interacting with a Yahoo API that used Machine Learning to locate and identify brands within streaming video, storing results and video on S3.Refactored the logging system to use error level based logging and storage allowing customers to configure the types of log entries that were stored in the DB, file, or Couchbase and for how long based on their error level.Designed and developed a System Health Monitoring system API that would take periodic reports from back end services and store or update the status of specific system services running on those machines. This allowed customers to see if the Apache service for example, was running on the video encoder and allow them to start/stop/restart the service(s).

I implemented a continuous integration solution using Jenkins and Ant to run code linting, unit tests, record code coverage and generate documentation for our API code base for other teams to use as a guide for interacting with the services.Added all of the missing documentation to, and upgraded the company's API code base to the latest CodeIgniter version from 2.0.Planned, championed and executed the transition of our code from using Facebook API 2.0 to 2.6 by centralizing the social interactions API into a single micro-service, that allowed an easier upgrade path with one place to change external social API interactions. Improved the purchasing flow within our back end API and improved the quality of our tax processing in order to improve the accuracy of sales reporting and improve the purchase experience for the customer.I helped new team members with their on-boarding process and getting their development environments set up so they can be up and working faster. Introduced other team members to, and helped set up, PHPUnit testing and code coverage on their local development environments. Also helped set up step by step code debugging in PHP using XDebug which allowed the team to walk through the code and view the logic paths and the state of the code during debugging.

Built a custom CMS system for creating and publishing content to the site, allowing a workflow based environment for contract writers and editors to collaborate on content.Architected and built an administrative site for the company for reports, product category management and to allow for immediate SEO changes to the customer facing site.Set up a queue server to allow handing off large tasks to a server external from the web servers, allowing us to take larger jobs and offload them, reducing the load and possible slowdown of customer facing servers.Developed a set of APIs that were used by the iPhone application to record customer quiz scores and deliver content.

Planned and developed a reporting application using Zend Framework to process data from debit card processors and generate reports on over 30k cardholders. This replaced the manual process and allowed for deeper levels of data analysis and a clearer view on cardholder usage.Designed and developed numerous middle tier processes and interfaces to provide connectivity to multiple card processor and bank web services.Managed a group of two remote developers for two small e-commerce based projects.
