I established Westcom Solutions in 1998 as a family partnership, later changing to a Pty Ltd. The business was established to service small to medium enterprises with customised business applications based on the SAGE business accounting suite. As Managing Director and Senior Consultant, I perform a client facing role managing the system implementation and change processes including but not limited to:• IT Consulting and Project Management• Benefits realisation planning and negotiation• Leadership of application development and implementation according to agreed specifications.• Change management and training of company personnel.• Ongoing sustainment, maintenance and support services.

CadetNet is a program of work delivered by the Cadet Policy Branch within the Department of Defence. It was a result of Parliamentary recommendations for the enhancement of Information Technology services provided to the Australian Defence Force Cadets.As Project Director, I was responsible for both the strategic and tactical aspects of the program. I communicated, negotiated and liaised with all stakeholder levels from Senior Executive Service defence leaders through to project managers and team members. Stakeholders included parliamentary secretary, senior defence members, Australian Public Service managers and staff as well as external service providers (business managers and staff).As the end client had no IT services provided at the start of the program, through extensive consultation with the program stakeholders, I assisted the department to develop a strategy and plans to deliver the following primary products: • IT infrastructure (PC’s and Printers) for the 461 Cadet Units around Australia. • Secure internet connectivity (dial-up and broadband). • Server infrastructure. • Email services. • Website services (SharePoint) and supporting applications (ASP/.NET). • Support and sustainment products. • Change management and training products.The public facing SharePoint web site can be viewed at www.cadetnet.gov.au.
