I lead multi discipline teams supporting Maritime related projects, helping to manage maritime group risk, creating value, growth and strengthening Shell's industry position and leadership within Shipping projects. From the Assess to the Execute phase of the project, I am responsible for the management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all Shipping and Maritime related Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.I work closely with the Maritime commercial team and act as the project focal point to provide the appropriate shipping support to the low carbon solutions business team and help them to evaluate and progress the development of Hydrogen and Ammonia import/export and mobility opportunities at various locations across the globe.

Singapore

Permanently based in Singapore and was responsible for managing all Asia Pacific and Middle East projects on behalf of Shell Shipping and Maritime, either for internal customers or for external to S&M Shell customers. The role included setting up a regional Shipping and Maritime project team incorporating all required engineering and support disciplines and maintaining an overview of ongoing projects in order to exploit synergies. As part of this role, I managed delivery of all marine aspects for regional projects, provided regional Maritime Design and Engineering (MDE), Technical Authority (TA) and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) support, managed the relationship and coordinated activities with regional technology institutes and technology providers and provided Charters technical oversight for shipbuilding portfolio within the Asia region.

Singapore

Assigned to Singapore supporting the FueLNG Joint Venture (JV) (Keppel/Shell 50/50 JV) and acted as Shell Charters’ representative for the FueLNG Bunker Barge construction. The nature of this role was to provide Shell oversite on the design and construction activities, identify and manage key project and technical risks and manage internal and external stakeholders at both board and project level. In addition I also managed the maritime technical, commercial support and design assurance activities within the region as well as the provision of marine technical consultancy services for the design, construction and technical assurance of maritime projects. This involved working closely with the regional DLNG business development team helping to evaluate and progress the development of LNG marine bunkering opportunities at various locations across the region as well as leading research initiatives with regional technology institutes and technology providers.

As a Shipping and Maritime Project Manager I led multi discipline teams supporting Maritime related project activities, helping to manage maritime group risk, creating value, growth and strengthening Shell's industry position and leadership within Shipping, Deepwater, Upstream and LNG for Marine Fuel projects.From the Assess to the Execute phase of the project, I was responsible for the management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all Shipping and Maritime Technology related activities within a portfolio of Maritime projects. Examples include Penguins redevelopment, Crux FPSO, Brent Decommissioning, Haewene Brim LX, Bonga South West Aparo FPSO, Curlew FPSO, Hamour / Wave LNG.

Part of a multi-discipline project team providing technical expertise and advice on Maritime aspects for a wide range of major projects covering both shipping and offshore activities. Within the role I worked both independently and as part of a larger team in order to deliver sound technical advice. Additional responsibilities included control and coordination of contractors, providing naval architect services to various business units within Shell, developing project deliverables such as CTR’s, SOW, BFD, technical specification and provision of casualty support to managed and chartered ship operations.

Responsible for developing and marketing LR's global business and technical services for marine renewable energy devices and marine vessels involved in the offshore renewable energy industry. Within this role I was responsible for delivering and coordinating LR's certification and classification services for marine renewable devices and marine vessels. The business role involves representing and speaking on behalf of LR at key industry conferences and events as well as attending major renewable energy conferences and taking a lead role in representing LR at these events. This required managing a number of senior level client relationships for LR within the renewable energy industry. The technical role was responsible for delivery and coordination of LR's services for marine renewable devices as well as coordination of LR services for marine vessels involved in the offshore renewable industry. This involved regular engagement with key internal stakeholders and forming LR's position in key technical areas as well as developing internal capability to deliver LR's services.

Part of a team involved in the structural plan appraisal and stability computational aspects of various floating offshore structures including ship, semi-submersible, self-elevating unit types and buoys. General plan appraisal activities within the department include review of hull structural documents, approval of hull and miscellaneous plans and performing independent calculations and analysis where required. General stability activities performed include independent stability calculations and appraisal of intact trim and stability booklets and damage stability calculations. Further activities include dealing with general Rule, classification, statutory stability and client issues.Involved in a number of floating offshore projects such as the Heerema SSCV, Ti Asia, Shell Bonga, Terra Nova, and Triton FPSO's, Efiat/Abana, Liverpool Bay and Soroosh Nowrooz FSU's, Amethyst Halter and Amethyst Daewoo semi submersible rigs and Western Bridge, a self unloading bulk carrier.

Part of a small Project Management team brought in to set up and run a ship repair division within a marine blasting company.

Involved in various commercial ship refits ranging from tankers, bulkers and container ships to cruise liners. This included activities such as work scheduling, monitoring progress, manpower planning & resourcing, organising sub-contractors and liasing with customers and classification societies. Also undertook monitoring and updating of current financial position of projects, variance analysis and financial review after completion of projects.
