Rob Wotzak has been a craftsperson of one kind or another his entire life, working on everything from antique furniture and historic homes to wrought-iron railings and bronze sculptures. Even though it's not a full-time affair, he continues to take commissions for custom metal furniture and architectural metalwork.Since 2009, Rob has leveraged his residential construction and design experience in various roles at Fine Homebuilding Magazine and as a freelance writer. After writing a few articles for the magazine while he was still a residential contractor, he took on the role of managing production and publication of much of the content on FineHomebuilding.com, helping the brand's website evolve as online advertising and social media became a key component of web publishing. He recently went out on his own again to focus more on writing and to leave more time in his schedule for his custom metalwork commissions.As a freelance writer and editor, Rob’s main focus these days is producing top notch how-to and design articles for Fine Homebuilding and other national publications.When he's not behind his desk or work bench, Rob splits his time between building custom bicycles, traveling with his wife and daughter, and restoring his 1871 Victorian home in New Milford, CT.
